No safety without testing

Test and Measurement technology is becoming increasingly important in the manufacture of mass products. That is what we experience as a manufacturer of assembly and testing lines for series products in our daily job. For safety reasons, numerous product parameters are measured, tested and documented.

In our many years of project work, we have built up extensive knowledge in this field. We develop, implement and qualify test and measurement applications, which we adapt precisely to your requirements, your product and your environmental conditions.

Testing and Measuring Processes

We combine the testing and measuring processes with our feeding and assembly technology, where necessary in cooperation with leading manufacturers of proven measurement technologies.

Examples:

  • Tactile measurements
  • Visual tests
  • Force / stroke monitoring
  • Torque checks
  • Leak tests in compliance with DIN EN 1779

Fields

Pharma / Medicine / Diagnostics

Primary packaging for medicines, products for diagnostics and medical applications are often inspected 100 percent inline for production defects and leak tightness.

In addition to tactile measurement and visual tests, leak tests in compliance with DIN EN 1779 are often necessary. The most common method used here is differential pressure testing with air to measure the change in pressure (Δp) within a period of time (Δt).  High-precision leak testing by mass spectrometry using special test gases such as helium or forming gas is also quite common. Measurements are taken in a vacuum chamber or by accumulation using a sniffer probe in an atmospheric environment.

E-Mobility / Automotive

Safety-relevant components in the automotive industry generally undergo 100 % testing. The housing tightness of battery cells, electronic components and hydrogen-carrying parts for fuel cells is particularly important for e-mobility.

In addition to differential pressure testing with air, high-precision mass spectrometry using test gases can be used as a test method. Electrolyte leakage from lithium-ion batteries can also be detected directly.

Measurements are taken in a vacuum chamber or by accumulation using a sniffer probe in an atmospheric environment.

Electronics / Electrical engineering

The requirements for electrotechnical components are complex, and the properties to be tested are correspondingly numerous.

Enclosures must often be tight (e.g. waterproof IP67) and demonstrate a correspondingly high enclosure resistance to prevent electric shock and leakage currents.

Motor windings and solenoid coils must meet the performance data set out in the specification.

Other fields with safety-relevant components

Safety-relevant series products are used in almost all industries and sectors. In most cases, the reliable implementation of the different processes is already checked during assembly. Often, following assembly, the finished product is tested for the required properties in a so-called end-of-line test.

A variety of measuring and testing methods are available for this purpose. In consultation with you, we determine the appropriate procedures and implement them for you in a customized test system.

Test Applications for Series Production

To ensure and document product quality, we develop and implement customized and product-specific testing applications and integrate them into your production.

Off-Line Testing

as a single test stand, for example for random sample testing in the laboratory

In-Line Testing

integrated into the production process as an intermediate test

End-of-Line Testing

at the end of the manufacturing process for the final product testing

Feasability Test and Measurability

You develop your product - we develop the corresponding test and measuring applications. To make sure that the measurement system analysis is feasible, we realize product-specific test setups in advance.

Based on our experience, we support you in the selection of the appropriate measurement technology and optimized test procedures. For this purpose, we use proven and globally available measurement technology and sensor systems from leading manufactures. For the calibration of master parts and limit samples we cooperate with certified test laboratories.

Automated testing units with measurement technology usually undergo a measurement system analysis (MSA) or capability test (Cg/Cgk) according to procedure 1.

Traceability and Data Processing

Test sequences and measurement results can be recorded in real time, visualized and documented in a traceable manner for production batches or parts.

If required, the product or batch number can be read in automatically before the test and assigned to the test process.

Products and packaging units without their own ID can be labeled or mechanically marked after testing. Labeling is usually done by laser, inkjet or thermal transfer printing. Data Matrix Code (DMC), barcode, plain text, digits and symbols are possible.

Optionally, the measurement results and product data can be permanently stored in a database (IPC). A report about the shift or the production order can be generated from the database; layout and content are implemented according to specification or as agreed.

Connection to customer control systems is possible on the basis of a corresponding specification. Possibilities are the connection of the PLC via data block (OPC) and also the connection via IPC to your company network (SCADA).
